GTI invites you to their event

LPC vs SQE – Which should you study this September to become a solicitor?

Thursday, June 23rd 2022 - 1:00 PM (GMT)

The event is over. See you in the next one.

About this event

Join Professor Peter Crisp, Deputy Vice Chancellor Law at The University of Law, and Jennifer Schwartz, a 3rd year LLB (Honors) student at the University of Law, for a discussion on both the LPC and SQE route to becoming a solicitor. Peter will explain:

  • What are the qualifying routes for students to become a solicitor upon completing their undergraduate degree?
  • What are the main differences between the traditional GDL/LPC route and the new SQE route?
  • What should students consider when choosing the right route for them?
  • What counts as qualifying work experience for the SQE? How is this different to the traditional training contract?
  • What is the typical process for a student to apply for/secure their chosen route?
  • What are the costs of qualifying as a solicitor and can students receive funding?

There will be a question and answer session as well, so bring along your questions on all things LPC/SQE for Peter.
