Making ESG investing more sustainable

Bringing diversity in themes, geography and strategy to asset owners

Asset owners and managers in Asia Pacific and globally are searching for new markets, themes and strategies to navigate the far-reaching re-pricing of assets in portfolios.

For many institutions, ESG funds continue to be the focus of attention. While the pace of flows has slowed since the height of the pandemic, the momentum behind sustainability within and across portfolios is irreversible.

Yet as interest deepens and the opportunity-set widens, investors face new challenges: how to effectively screen, select and then monitor ESG allocations? And is that alone sufficient to be a “responsible investor” ?

On the other hand, new offerings from asset managers are under the spotlight as global regulatory expectations and market standards come into sharper focus.

At the same time, asset managers in Asia Pacific are looking further afield to grow their asset base – requiring a better understanding of the requirements that US/European investors want and need for their portfolios going forward.
