ISMIE Risk Management invites you to their event

Radiology Risk Management 101: Protecting Patients and Your Practice

About this event

As a radiologist, caring for your patient may look a bit different than other specialties. One noted difference is that typically radiologists don’t spend as much time interacting directly with their patients compared to other specialists. Even still, patients are still naming radiologists in their lawsuits. Over the years, there’s been a shift in claims made against radiologists causing them to be the number one specialist cited in claims [1]. At ISMIE, we’ve seen radiology-related claims citing issues such as diagnostic errors, insufficient communication, and poor documentation. But what can radiologists do to help improve their practice and reduce their risk?

Join us as we discuss how you can better manage your risk as a radiologist. We will be covering important risk areas such as improving your diagnostic process, fine tuning your communication and documentation skills, as well as addressing burnout.

Who can attend

Registration is limited to ISMIE and SEMPIC policyholders and their employed staff.

Learning objectives

  1. Identify medical professional liability risks specific to radiology
  2. Analyze case studies to identify areas of heightened risk
  3. Summarize strategies to help radiologists mitigate risks when providing patient care
