Telemedicine use has increased drastically over recent years as it is a helpful tool for both physicians and patients. However, with the growing use of telemedicine, it’s important to consider how one’s risk can shift when using this technology. Join Mike O’Neill from ISMIE’s Risk Management Division as he outlines what considerations need to be taken into account regarding telemedicine and what strategies can be used to help mitigate potential risk.

Michael H. O’Neill, CPHRM, has been employed by ISMIE since 2002, serving as the Assistant Vice President of Risk Management Operations. In this position, he oversees the coordination of risk management activities, as well as the risk assessment program. Daily, O’Neill works with physicians, practice administrators, physician staff members, chief executives, and brokers in helping them address various risk management concerns and questions. He has presented at numerous live events on various risk management topics over the years. Before working in risk management at ISMIE, he worked in the claims division at ISMIE, Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company, and Safeco Insurance Company. O'Neill is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management through the American Hospital Association and completed his Healthcare Risk Management (HRM) certification through ASHRM. He is a member of ASHRM, CHRMS, and ISHRM.
