Electronic Prescribing for Controlled Substances: Beginning January 1, 2024, Illinois prescribers will be required to use electronic prescribing for controlled substances (EPCS), unless otherwise exempt from the requirement.

About the presenter:

Lila Valinoti is the Assistant Vice President of Health Policy Research and Education at the Illinois State Medical Society (ISMS) and has over 25 years’ experience in health policy development and helping physicians understand how legislative and regulatory changes may affect their practices.

This program will cover:

• An overview of the EPCS requirement
• An update on new legislation that included several provisions that may exempt a prescriber from the requirement to use e-prescribing
• A brief discussion of options for selecting EPCS technology for your office
