JEC invites you to their event

Polymer and Ceramic Matrix Composite for Innovative Applications

About this event

Polymer and Ceramic Matrix Composite for Innovative Applications

Nowadays, resistance to high temperatures, excellent thermal isolation and low-smoke emissions are the most demanded properties for flame retardant Polymer-Matrix Composites (PMCs).

The webinar will introduce you Nano-Tech and Petroceramics, the proprietors of C-Preg® 400, a cutting edge, easy-to-use, non-toxic prepreg combining both very good thermal stability (up to 400°C) and excellent flame retardant properties.

Nano-Tech is a young company aiming at developing, producing and commercializing innovative nano-based materials (prepregs, epoxy resins, thermoplastics).

Petroceramic is a dynamic company with a key position in the development of advanced materials (including ceramic matrix composites) and technological solutions for different sectors, especially automotive, aerospace and defence.

A quick overview of applications and solutions will be presented, with a special focus on C-Preg® 400.

In this webinar, you will learn more on:

  • How C-Preg® 400 is a great alternative to Cyanate ester (CE), bismaleimide (BMI) and Polyimide
  • How to work with C-Preg® 400
  • What the Applications and Possibilities are

Speakers

Andrea GIOVANELLI, co-founder & GM @ Nano-Tech S.p.A.

Andrea GIOVANELLI

Andrea Giovannelli, co-founder and General Manager at Nano-Tech SpA is a Mechanical Engineer with Master in General Management. He gained experience in nanocomposites fabrication and testing at Bristol University. He set up the production technologies of the company and actively collaborates in all the products and IP development. Before Nano-Tech, Andrea worked as management consultant in business model re-engineering and corporate restructuring.

Fabio GIACOMETTI, senior researcher (R&D team) @ Petroceramics S.p.A.

Fabio GIACOMETTI

Born in 1985, he earned a MS degree in Geological Sciences and a PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Pavia. During his PhD Dr Giacometti studied the geologic evolution of metamorphic Units in the Italian Western Alps by means of combined geochemical, petrologic and structural approaches. During his post-doc at University of Pavia, he applied his scientific background to archaeometric studies, also training the research activity of PhD and MS students.

Thanks to his academic activity Dr Giacometti gained experience with several analytical techniques such as optical microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy, X-Ray Powder Diffraction and also Ion Probe Micro Analysis, Electron Probe Micro Analysis, X-Ray Fluorescence, and IR-Spectroscopy. He is first author and co-author of 7 peer-reviewed scientific publications.

Since 2015 Dr Giacometti joined Petroceramics S.p.A. and is part of the R&D team, as a senior researcher. In this Company his research activity includes several topics such as composites (CFRCs, CMCs and PMCs) with application to the automotive and aerospace industry, technical ceramics, raw materials, natural and engineered stones.
