The successful delivery of global sport events requires leadership skills. It involves the coordination of people, ideas and resources that need to be aligned in order to reach the objective, which is to deliver the best event possible. Learnings and experiences will be described in order to exemplify what it takes to organize a World Cup.
Marely Flores is a multi-lingual global sport events and projects manager with experience delivering FIFA World Cups, Olympic Games, UEFA competitions and Boxing World Championships. Having delivered 9 FIFA World Cups of different categories, she has had the opportunity to work in 20 countries in all continents. She can communicate in 8 languages and is currently Project Lead of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022.
