About this event
Canada has an impressive array of business and investor immigration options. One of the many viable, yet lesser known, choices is the Significant Benefit work permit which falls under the International Mobility Program pursuant to the Labour Market Impact Assessment exemption code C11.
The program allows Entrepreneur/Self-Employed C11 individuals who want to open a business in Canada to obtain the legal status to do so. They must demonstrate that they will provide a significant social, cultural, or economic benefit to Canada.
The program allows workers to enter Canada without the often-required Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). Changes last year made receiving a positive LMIA under the Owner Operator program more challenging for business owners and entrepreneurs.
Since Joorney Business Plans Canada is not an immigration consultant, lawyer, or advisor, we are delighted to bring in our special guest to dive deep into the program.
This month, we welcome our special guest and Canadian Immigration Lawyer, Nava ELMI, owner at Nava ELMI Immigration Law Firm. Join us as we learn from Nava Elmi about both the basics and intricacies of the Significant Benefit work permit option.
Guest: Nava Elmi is the founder and owner of Nava ELMI Canada Immigration Law Firm Professional Corporation located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
She is a licensed member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Canadian Bar Association. Her law firm helps entrepreneurs set up their business immigration strategy and execute on it (through business concept validation, finding a location to buy or rent, incorporation, business plan, immigration, etc.). They accompany entrepreneurs during their entire immigration journey: from business setup to the first work permit, then permanent residency and finally to citizenship (Canadian passport).
Host: Marianella Manzur has over 18 years of international experience in business development and consulting in strategy, management, business planning, business intelligence, marketing, and sales. Originally from Colombia, she has worked in an array of different industries in both Latin and North American markets. Marianella is an MBA graduate with postgraduate studies at Harvard Business School in strategy and sales as well as entrepreneurial essentials. Currently, as Director of Sales & Marketing and Head of Market Research of Joorney Global, she channels her broad and diverse business knowledge into helping hundreds of entrepreneurs, startups, and business immigrants achieve their goals every year.
Joorney Business Plans specialize in immigration business plans for business visa applications.
