Klimate Conversations: Financing resilience through carbon removal

About this event

Climate change is a global challenge requiring solutions from all over the world.  Zooming in on the Global South, there is massive potential for financing climate resilience efforts with revenues generated by carbon removal projects. As CDR is an essential step in the pathway to net zero, this discussion takes this as a jumping off point to dive into the sector’s potential financial benefits as well as synergies with other climate goals, including adaptation and resilience.

Join us for this exciting digital roundtable taking place in the lead up to Climate Week where we delve into the opportunities for climate financing in the Global South. This roundtable discussion hosted by Klimate will include several perspectives from the carbon removal space including project developers Bio-Logical and Taking Root, and global consultancy Dalberg, a recent CDR corporate investor.

In this session, we will discuss:

  • Opportunities which exist for carbon removal and financing in the Global South, especially to local communities, and how this can contribute to overall net zero goals.
  • Benefits and challenges of project implementation, including perceived barriers and how they are combatted.
  • Incentivising action for companies, including the variety of approaches to the climate challenge and how this can make an impact on their related climate goals.

We look forward to seeing you then!
