About Our Speakers:
Dr. Nell Smircina, DAOM, L.Ac., Dipl.OM serves as the President of CSOMA. She is passionate about bringing acupuncture into the standard of care and improving patient access to this medicine in all settings. Dr. Nell is the Founder of PIQUE Health, an integrative medical practice in Beverly Hills, CA. She currently coaches students and practitioners looking to make a big impact in the integrative medicine space, as well as serving as an educator in various AOM institutions and speaking internationally to multidisciplinary audiences to expand awareness around the efficacy of integrative medicine.
Dr. Robyn "Ra" Adcock, DACM, LAc, CMT, serves as the Executive Director of CSOMA, California's state professional acupuncture association. She is passionate about expanding access to acupuncture medicine, strengthening patient care, and improving the lives of acupuncture practitioners. Dr. Adcock also serves as the publisher of the Journal of Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine (JAIM), a CSOMA publication. She also works at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital as a researcher, program developer, educator, and clinician of inpatient and ambulatory care on UCSF's nationally-acclaimed integrative medicine team.
David Quackenbush is a seasoned, nonprofit executive with nearly 20 years of a successful track record advocating for health care insurance coverage and access for low-income communities throughout California including health care reform (Affordable Care Act) and state and local public and private insurance programs. David has led multiple community clinics and health center (Federally Qualified Health Centers, Migrant Health Centers, Rural Health Clinics) organizations through reorganizations resulting in expanded resources and staff capacity to fulfill the organizational mission.
