About our speaker:

Whitfield Reaves, OMD, LAc. has been working in the field of sports medicine since he first began practice in 1981. He earned a Doctor of Oriental Medicine degree in 1983 that included a thesis entitled “Acupuncture and the Treatment of Common Running Injuries”. Whitfield’s experience in sports medicine includes the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, as well as numerous events over the last 40 years. His foundational teaching program is the Acupuncture Sports Medicine Apprenticeship Program. Whitfield is the author of The Acupuncture Handbook of Sports Injuries and Pain. And his webinar series Mastering the Treatment of Injury and Pain is a precise and detailed video on his assessment, diagnosis, and treatment protocols.


Dr. Jenny Nieters, DAOM specializes in sports medicine, orthopedic injuries and athletic performance. In addition to her private clinical practice, she is a team acupuncturist for the San Francisco 49ers Football team and the Saint Mary’s College Men’s Rugby teams. Jenny is the event acupuncturist for Tight End University, a well known gathering for the NFL tight end position players. She offers continuing education courses for licensed acupuncturists, as well as co-teaching the Acupuncture Sports Medicine Apprentice Program developed by Whitfield Reaves.


Vincent Koeller, MSAOM, LAc. is a licensed acupuncturist and holds a Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences since 2010. Vincent studied overseas with advanced training in acupuncture and Chinese medicine in Taiwan and China. Specializing in treating patients suffering from pain and injury, his private practice in Costa Mesa provides sports medicine and orthopedic acupuncture treatment. In addition, Vincent is the staff acupuncturist for the University of Southern California athletic department. He has completed the Acupuncture Sports Medicine Apprenticeship Program where he also currently works as an assistant teacher.


Derrick McBride, CSCS, LAc. is a licensed acupuncturist and certified strength and conditioning coach with over a decade of experience working with collegiate and professional athletes. He has worked as a medical provider at events sponsored by Red Bull, Nitro Circus, and the CrossFit Games. He specializes in bringing orthopedic assessment, manual muscle testing, movement programing, and corrective exercise to the acupuncture clinic. He teaches live seminars as well as online courses integrating these orthopedic assessment techniques with acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine.
