Dr. Carsten Nicolaus is a globally recognised expert in Lyme and tick-borne diseases, renowned for his groundbreaking research, diagnostics, and treatment methodologies. With over three decades of experience, he has dedicated his career to advancing the understanding and management of these complex conditions. Since 1990, he has advised over 25,000 Lyme patients from more than 80 countries and has trained and mentored over 1,500 doctors since 2006.
After establishing his GP practice in a Lyme-endemic area, Dr. Nicolaus recognised the limitations of conventional treatment and embarked on a mission to develop integrative approaches tailored to the needs of chronic Lyme patients. In 2006, he founded the BCA-clinic, Europe's first and largest Lyme clinic, where he pioneered groundbreaking treatment protocols combining conventional medicine with herbal remedies and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
As the Chief Medical Advisor at MakeWell, Dr. Nicolaus continues to lead the charge in advancing Lyme disease support. He co-founded Infectolab Americas, a premier diagnostic laboratory, and remains an active member of ILADS and ILADEF, advocating for improved diagnostics and treatment standards.
