Mama Glow Webinar - Reclaiming our Birthing Traditions

About this event

As we close out the year we are grounding in the healing power of embracing our traditions. Now is such an important time to lift up our care traditions surrounding the reproductive continuum particularly as we collectively navigate a post-Roe landscape. We will explore how our ancestral pathways including: the midwifery model of care, mindfulness practices, grounding dance and movement, spirituality, healing arts, community support, and personal autonomy shape our birthing and postpartum experiences.

We will hear from the following panelists:

  • Kanika Harris, PhD, MPH - Director of Maternal and Child Health, Black Women’s Health Imperative
  • Ebony Marcelle, CNM, MS, FACNM - Director of Midwifery, Family Health and Birth Center
  • Maya Louisa - Dance Artist, EmbodyBirth Educator, Founder of Kolé Jewel
  • Latham Thomas - Founder, Mama Glow & Co-Founder of Mama Glow Foundation

We will Explore:

  • How the midwifery model of care can support your reproductive health journey
  • How dance and movement can help you connect deeper with your body and baby
  • The importance of feeling safety and dignity along the care continuum
  • Advocacy tools can help you navigate your perinatal experience
  • How to center joy and make space for an empowered birth
