Dr. Escrig is an Artificial Intelligence expert with distinguished accomplishments in research and development of innovative AI products. Held a University tenure position and taught AI related topics at several universities inEurope and the USA. Led a research group on Cognitive Robotics. Published more than one hundred peer-review articles, four books, four patents, and received several awards including the best PhD award andthe National Prize on Science and Technology.
Founder and CEO of two startups in AI, developed four products from concept to delivery – “Cognitive Robot Navigation”, “Cognitive Vision System”, “DNA sequencing”, and “Transparent AutonomousVehicles” –. Recently, she held the role of AI global lead in Cognitive Computing & Computer Vision at Accenture.
In her current role as Independent Consultant, she has the privilege of helping business owners to develop and implement a Safe AI roadmap; mentoring selected startups that want to include transparency in their AI products; and assisting investors who want to evaluate maturity, responsibility, and potential pitfalls of AI technologies included in business investments.
In her last book, “Safe A.I. - A blueprint for mid-market executives to harness the benefits of AI without the unintended consequences.”, she explains the very real potential negative impact of AI going wrong, and how to embrace responsible and safe AI.
