How Surface Wettability Affects Biomaterials and Biomedical Devices

Wettability is an important material property that affects a material’s response to its surrounding environment. For biomedical devices and biomaterials, wettability determines how the material will interact with proteins, cells, and bacteria. In this webinar, we will discuss how wettability can impact the manufacturing and performance of biomaterials and biomedical devices. We will then look at ways to quantify wettability, such as contact angle and surface free energy measurements. For the final part of the webinar, we will discuss specific examples of using wettability measurements to improve the fabrication of nanofiber-based biomaterials.
