Laboratory platen presses are widely used for sample preparation, material development and quality control across a variety of industries.
In this introductory webinar, we will present Fontijne Presses and provide an overview of our laboratory platen press portfolio. We will introduce the different product families, from compact manual and benchtop presses to automated, vacuum and highly customizable systems, and highlight their main features and capabilities.
We will also look at some of the application areas in which laboratory platen presses are commonly used, including polymers, rubber, composites and other materials. Finally, we will discuss some of the key parameters to consider when selecting a laboratory press, such as force, temperature, platen size, cooling and level of process control.

He holds a Master’s degree in Polymer Chemistry and has more than 20 years of experience in technical and industrial sales, with a strong focus on polymers, chemicals, laboratory equipment and materials testing. Throughout his career, Bart has worked closely with industrial companies, research institutes and universities, helping customers translate their application requirements into suitable technical solutions. At Fontijne Presses, he supports customers and distribution partners worldwide with laboratory platen press solutions for polymer, composite and other advanced materials applications.
Luc Pattyn joined Fontijne Presses in 2018 as Sales & Marketing Director. Fontijne Presses, headquartered in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, specialises in the design and manufacture of high-precision laboratory platen presses for material development, research, and quality control applications. Over the past years, Luc has facilitated the sale of more than 400 laboratory press systems worldwide, supporting customers across the plastics, rubber, composites, and advanced materials industries. With a degree in Commercial Engineering from KU Leuven University in Belgium and extensive experience in international B2B sales, he is passionate about helping organizations improve their material testing and sample preparation processes.
