Operating as a “Remote First” workforce
The COVID-19 pandemic is giving businesses an opportunity to discover the full potential of working remotely. Digital leaders such as Facebook, Twitter, Square and others have already committed to adopting a “Remote First” approach. "Office-centricity is over," according to Tobi Lütke, Shopify's CEO. This could lead to the emergence of a corporate culture shift that makes virtual the de facto mode of operation for employees. “We want employees to be able to work where they feel most creative and productive,” said a spokesperson from Square. “Remote First” businesses could not only cut costs in office space but also appeal to potential future employees who prefer flexibility in work location and even support new modes of collaboration and productivity.
