Dr. Matthew Ganter is the Director of the Battery Development Center (BDC) and Assistant Research Professor of Chemical Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). The RIT BDC is a state-of-the-art research and rapid prototyping and testing facility focused on the development and qualification of emerging energy storage technologies through a partnership between NY-Battery Energy and Storage Technologies (NY-BEST) and RIT. Dr. Ganter founded and has been directing the battery prototyping facility on RIT’s campus for the last 10 years with dry room, roll-to-roll electrode, and automated pouch/cylindrical cell capabilities. In addition, he now oversees operation of an additional 18,000 sq. ft. testing center on Kodak Park that provides performance and degradation testing of cells, modules, and packs along with safety testing.
