Prof. Dr. Thorsten Gühring ist Chefarzt für Schulter-und Ellenbogenchirurgie, Sporttraumatologie und Unfallchirurgie am Diakonieklinikum Stuttgart. Er spezialisierte sich neben der Traumatologie auf die Schulter- und Ellenbogenchirurgie, und er war Geschäftsführender Oberarzt an der BG Klinik Ludwigshafen und Leitender Arzt an der Arcus Sportklinik Pforzheim. Seine umfassenden wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten zum Knochenstoffwechsel hat er an den Universitäten Oxford und Heidelberg durchgeführt. Seine weiteren klinischen Spezialisierungen sind alle moderne Techniken der Schulter-Endoprothetik einschließlich aller osteosynthetischen Techniken und er hat große Erfahrung in Revisionseingriffen an der oberen Extremität.Prof. Dr. Gühring ist zertifizierter Schulter- und Ellenbogenchirurg der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Schulter -und Ellenbogenchirurgie (DVSE).

Prof. Dr. Burkhard Lehner ist Leiter der Abteilung für orthopädische Onkologie und septische Chirurgie an der Universitätsklinik Heidelberg mit einem speziellen Interesse an Gelenk- und periprothetischen Infektionen und der biologischen Rekonstruktion von Knochendefekten nach Tumorresektion. In der Abteilung werden neue Behandlungsmöglichkeiten von Knochentumoren, für periprothetische Infektionen sowie Knocheninfektionen durchgeführt. Mit über 100 von Experten begutachteten Veröffentlichungen auf dem Gebiet der orthopädischen Infektionen und der Onkolgie, ist Prof. Dr. Lehner Vorsitzender der Abteilung für muskuloskelettale Tumoren der Deutsche Gesellschaft für Orthopädie und Orthopädische Chirurgie DGOOC. Außerdem ist er Mitglied der European Bone and Joint Infection Society. Die Abteilung ist eines der führenden Zentren für die Behandlung von Tumoren des Bewegungsapparates in Deutschland.
