Plan A invites you to their event

Meet the Giants: HSBC

About this event

How will the financial and banking sector help the economy transition towards a low-carbon economy?

Join us for our 7th edition of “Meet the Giants”. This time, the spotlight is on banking and investment with finance leader, HSBC.

For our 7th online edition, Plan A is thrilled to host Katarin Wagner, representing HSBC. Join Katarin Wagner, Head of Corporate Sustainability at HSBC and Lubomila Jordanova, CEO & Co-founder at Plan A, for a fireside chat on how the banking industry facilitates the transition towards a low-carbon economy, and how to drive a net-zero emissions strategy across the entire value chain.

The “Meet the Giants” series is dedicated to sustainability in the corporate world. You can hear from the leaders and brilliant minds who are the closest to the sustainability steering wheel.

Although large companies have a more significant environmental impact, the opportunity for them to change the world we live in is also more powerful. Some of these large companies have taken great strides to address the challenge of sustainability.

A note about our seventh giant:

HSBC is one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organisations. The firm serves more than 40 million customers globally. HSBC recently disclosed its sustainability strategy and is committed to being net-zero of their own operations by 2030. To do so, HSBC committed to aligning the financed emissions from its portfolio of customers to net-zero by 2050 or sooner, in line with the Paris Agreement goals. To help get there, the bank aims to provide by 2030 between $750 billion and $1 trillion of finance and investment towards the transition. Now, join the conversation to learn more about the subject.

This event was streamed live on 23 Sep 2021.
