PAT-INDUSTRY invites you to their event

Do You Know When Your Batch Is Truly Done? Real-Time Mid-IR for Chemistry-Driven Process Control

About this event

πŸ“…Β Tuesday, 22 July 2026 | 9:00 AM CEST (Paris) β€” 45 minutes, live

Do you know the exact endpoint of your batch β€” or are you running to a fixed time and hoping for the best?

Most manufacturers in chemicals, pharma and cosmetics still control critical operations β€” emulsification, functionalisation, distillation, oxidation β€” with offline samples and delayed lab results. Decisions get made on stale data. Endpoints are guessed, not measured.

In this 45-minute live session, Dr. Lennon Lee, CEO of Paeonia InnovationsΒ (deep-tech spin-off from A*STAR, Singapore), will show how a palm-sized, solid-state Mid-IR spectrometer turns process monitoring from a time-driven exercise into a chemistry-driven oneΒ β€” one full spectrum every 0.3 seconds, directly in your process line.

What you'll take away:

  • A practical decision framework: when Mid-IR beats NIR, Raman or UV-Vis β€” and when it doesn't
  • Three real case studies: real-time emulsification endpoint control, polymer functionalisation tracking in 10,000 cP viscous media without dilution, and low-level Hβ‚‚Oβ‚‚ quantification in acidified ethanol
  • How inline sampling design, cleaning-in-place and chemometric models translate spectra into actionable endpointsΒ β€” shorter cycles, higher yield, less rework
  • A pilot-first roadmap: test the technology on your own process samples before committing

Format:Β ~30 minutes of insights + 15 minutes of open Q&A β€” bring your toughest matrix.

Your hosts:

  • Dr. Lennon LeeΒ β€” CEO, Paeonia Innovations (Singapore)
  • Thomas RicourΒ β€” Founder, PAT-INDUSTRY (France), 25+ years in non-destructive process analysis and PAT integration, moderating the session

If your process is viscous, optically dense, aqueous or low-concentration β€” this session was built for you.

Lennon Lee CEO @ PAEONIA INNOVATIONS

Lennon Lee was selected as an A*STAR National Science Scholar β€” one of Singapore's most competitive research scholarships β€” and read Electrical Engineering at Columbia University, graduating top of his class in three years on the Chairman's Honors List, with the Edwin Howard Armstrong Memorial Award, named for the inventor of FM radio. He completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering at Stanford, then returned to Singapore to lead the Photonics and Sensors department at A*STAR's Institute of Microelectronics, where he built the deep optical sensing expertise that now sits at the core of Paeonia. Today he is CEO of Paeonia Innovations, a CPACT partner and member of the Pharma Innovation Programme Singapore, and the creator of the OrionIRβ„’ β€” a palm-sized mid-IR spectrometer capable of three spectra per second, built specifically for the optically complex processes that have historically resisted inline PAT.
