Generational Patient Care: Inspiring Excellence Across the Ages

About this event

From the Greatest Generation to Generation Beta, healthcare professionals treat a wide range of patients who interact within the healthcare system very differently from one generation to the next. And while all patients need and deserve comprehensive and compassionate care, clinicians may feel at a loss for how to treat patients of different generations when their preferences can vary so greatly. In this presentation, Jan Brauer, BSN, MA, will explore how to treat patients of all generations with high quality care. Healthcare professionals will gain insights into how to effectively cater to the unique needs of different generational groups, ensuring that every patient receives compassionate and appropriate care. Participants will also learn strategies to bridge the digital divide, enhance access to care, and improve patient outcomes across all age groups.

About the presenter

Jan Brauer, BSN, MA, believes that we all have a unique perspective and an important voice to contribute to the team. She is a nationally recognized inspirational speaker who enjoys developing leaders. Jan says the “why” of her work is caring for people: the patients and the team who cares for them. She inspires and engages teams and teaches leadership and collaboration techniques as well as how to address team conflict. She has become a leader in patient-centered teamwork to ensure that healthcare teams are working collaboratively to provide safe, quality care. Jan speaks from her first-hand knowledge as a clinical educator with 35 years’ experience as a labor and delivery nurse. She has been a TeamSTEPPS Master Trainer since 2010. She has also been an annual speaker for the American Hospital Association’s Team Training National Conference since 2013. Audiences love Jan's sense of humor and feel empowered by her encouraging and energetic approach to sharing the core elements of teamwork with practical tools necessary for building successful teams.
