This is the first "well-to-wake" emissions regulation standard and a precursor for what's to come.
- All ships burning VLSFO of HFO/ MGO will incur a penalty under these regulations from 1st Jan 2025.
- Given this is a fuel intensity standard, more efficient Newbuildings which still burn fuel oil can't be pooled to reduce your exposure.
- There are differences between who is responsible for EU ETS and FuelEU.
