Philip Bacon, a former seafarer turned shipbroker and arbitrator, has 32 years of experience in various aspects of shipping. He has worked with Shell, K-Line, Gearbulk, the Jebsen family companies, AM Nomikos, and Siem Shipping. His expertise spans operations, chartering, management, risk control, claims, compliance, and consultancy, covering tankers, car carriers, containers, dry bulk, and open-hatch breakbulk sectors.
Edwin, a seasoned naval architect for 20+ years, specializes in ship design, stability, fire safety, and environmental concerns. Active in IMO since 2001, he chairs the Royal Institution of Naval Architects Committee and contributes to EU projects on fire safety, damage stability, and hydrogen fuel cells. Notably, he led a study on future EEDI for the EU, contributed to EEXI and CII frameworks, and conducted research on biofuels, ammonia, hydrogen, and wind for EMSA.
