Often referred to as Portugal’s answer to Route 66, the Estrada Nacional 2 is the country’s most iconic road, winding its way the entire length of the country from the ancient city of Chaves to Faro, on the balmy southern coast of the Algarve.
Join Laurens ten Dam and Ted King for the ultimate adventure of doing the N2 in 3 days of riding.
Laurens and Ted both had successful careers in the Pro Tour, riding in the Tour de France amongst other races and now are part of the burgeoning gravel scene in the US.
We are delighted to be joined by Bill Strickland as our special guest host. Bill Strickland is the Editorial Director of the Hearst Enthusiast Group, which includes Bicycling, Runner’s World, Popular Mechanics, Biography.com, and Best Products. Through a career that spans freelance writing, a three-time appointment as Editor-in-Chief of Bicycling, Editorial Director of Rodale, and his current role, he and his publishing brands have won numerous National Magazine Awards and other honors, including a 2021 Pulitzer Prize for feature writing.

Professional World Tour bike racer turned professional bike… rider, Ted King is now an ambassador for the general sport of cycling. He’s eager to put more peoples’ butts on bikes, which takes the form of dabbling in gravel, coaching, hosting events such as King Challenge, consulting on a number of organizations and other events, and just trying to perpetuate the excitement for the sport of cycling.
