The State of Craft is a new webinar series focused on the legal craft cannabis industry.
The rollout of cannabis legalization in Canada has been full of ups and downs. The craft cannabis industry in particular has been immensely affected by a myriad of challenges and missteps in the years following the Cannabis Act and Cannabis Regulations.
In The State of Craft, Sami Majadla, CEO of CertiCraft, facilitates conversations with leaders in the legal craft cannabis industry to explore what is going well and what is going not-so-well. We'll discuss what can realistically be changed at different levels of government and industry alike to address major issues the craft cannabis sector is facing, and hopefully inspire stimulating ideas of all sorts. Every episode will end with a 15 min live Q&A with our audience.
In Episode 1, Sami will be joined by Kieley Beaudry and Che' LeBlanc.
Kieley Beaudry is a 25-year cannabis consumer, and entered the medical cannabis space via a family member when she began making various products to treat their cancer. She entered the legal space in 2017 and began the plans to build a micro-cultivation facility. She co-founded Parkland Flower, Alberta's 9th micro licence holder and 1st to sell directly to the Province of Alberta. She then founded the Alberta Cannabis Micro License Association, where she is a fierce advocate for small producers. Parkland Flower focuses on breeding cannabis seeds for home growers and medical patients and runs boutique breeding programs for other LPs.
Che' LeBlanc is a standard outdoor cannabis producer and the CEO of Rosebud Cannabis Farms, which he founded in 2019. He is a certified permaculturalist with nearly 30 years of cannabis cultivation and breeding experience. Che' has spent the last 10+ years focused on outdoor genetics and production. He has grown and developed hundreds of cannabis cultivars and uses sun grow, living soil, and regenerative style cultivation practices to produce a high quality flower rich in cannabinoids and terpenes.
