Macquarie University invites you to their event

Macquarie Business School Research Skills Workshop

About this event

Macquarie Business School invites you to join us in a live Research Skills Workshop to learn about our pioneering, innovative and impactful research in the world of business, economics and finance.

Macquarie Business School has a reputation for research excellence founded on collaboration – including partnerships with academia, industry and government – bold strategies and boundless ambition to give you the freedom to pursue solutions with positive global impact. Our research spans the width and breadth of the business and economics realm, and lies at the very heart of everything we do, whether that be to impact basic or applied research through peer reviewed publications and research grants, or through the design of our teaching curriculum.

With 100% of our research rated world standard or higher (Excellence in Research for Australia rankings, 2018), our School’s environment is distinctive in that it is focused on research that is relevant and useful, being oriented to understanding and solving problems of importance to our stakeholders and to the world.

Developed for experienced practitioners who wish to pursue a deeper investigation of the world of business, economics and finance, Macquarie Business School’s Higher Degree Research (HDR) programs offer candidates a chance to undergo extensive exploration of a self-directed area of interest. Our HDR programs are ideal for those seeking a richer picture of society through the lens of business, finance and the economy to advance their knowledge and enhance their career, or for candidates who wish to pursue a path in academia.

Macquarie Business School also encourages cotutelle and joint PhD enrolments with overseas partner institutions, for either inbound or outbound students.

During this seminar, our speakers will introduce you to the research expertise at the Macquarie Business School, discuss the models of international research collaboration, give examples from the School’s strong engagement with industry and the relevance of these partnerships in research, Fellowship schemes, the Higher Degree Research programs (MRes and PhD), tips on preparing an impactful application, and scholarships for international research applicants.

You will also get an opportunity to interact with a senior research scholar who will offer practical tips to students based on her own experience.
