In late 2020 the Government brought forward the ban on the sale of petrol and diesel fueled vehicles from 2035 to 2030, alongside a £1.3bn fund to accelerate the rollout of charging infrastructure in England. As traditionally fueled vehicles are phased out, new electric vehicles present a viable alternative in line with government commitments to net-zero emissions targets.
However, with the majority of drivers still reliant upon traditional fueling infrastructure, there’s a lot of work required to get the UK ready for turning off the tap in 2030. With only a decade to deliver sufficient charging infrastructure, as well as change consumer and business behaviours to accommodate these changes, there’s a risk of eleventh-hour planning if our industry isn’t quick out of the gate.
Learning the lessons of Brexit, what do government and industry need to do now to avoid a potentially disastrous rush at the end of the 2020s?
This webinar brings together a range of industry experts to discuss this question and offer their viewpoints on addressing the challenge of 2030 head on.
