Let’s Talk AI: Balancing AI Innovation & Compliance in Life Sciences

About this event

About the Let’s Talk AI Series

Let’s Talk AI is the newest branch of NPG’s Let’s Talk series, building on the success of Let’s Talk Labeling and Let’s Talk PPWR. This ongoing series brings together industry leaders and NPG experts to explore how AI can be responsibly used for innovation and automation in regulated life sciences environments. The series will focus on practical advice, not hype, and be valuable to VPs and industry leaders.

AI is no longer optional for life sciences organizations but using it inside a regulated environment is anything but straightforward. Leaders are being asked to “do something with AI” while still owning inspection readiness, documentation, and patient safety. At the same time, that pressure can create a dangerous temptation to rely on AI outputs without sufficient human review or validation. This first episode of NPG’s new Let’s Talk AI series is designed to level-set the room and give you a practical starting point.

In this session, Christine Bonifield, Partner at Network Partners Group, will share how NPG has approached AI over the past six years, including the story behind FALCON, NPG’s AI‑enabled tool for label verification. Christine will walk through what “human‑in‑the‑loop” really looks like in practice, how to think about validation in a constantly learning ecosystem, and where AI fits (and doesn’t fit) in regulated workflows today. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of realistic use cases, the guardrails that matter, and how to talk about AI with your own internal stakeholders.

Because this episode is the foundation for the entire Let’s Talk AI series, we’ll also preview upcoming topics such as using AI in regulatory submissions and inspections, deciding between third‑party tools and in-house solutions, and managing accountability and risk when AI touches your quality systems. This session is intentionally introductory—not because AI is simple, but because getting everyone into the right frame of mind is the first step to making it work in the real world.

What You’ll Learn

  • Understand where AI can realistically add value in regulated life sciences processes today—and where it should not be used yet.
  • See how a human in the loop model, like the one behind NPG’s FALCON label verification tool, helps balance efficiency with compliance and inspection readiness.
  • Get a preview of future Let’s Talk AI topics so you can plan and involve the right stakeholders for deeper dives on submissions, inspections, risk, and tool strategy.
