Navigating N.Y. State Cybersecurity Regulations for N.Y. Hospitals

Governor Kathy Hochul has proposed new cybersecurity regulations for New York hospitals. These regulations will require hospitals to appoint a Chief Information Security Officer, implement defensive infrastructure, conduct regular cyber risk analyses, develop secure software, and develop incident response plans. The plan will be published on December 6th, 2023, a 60-day public comment period will follow, and hospitals will have a year to comply.
