About this event
The quest to accelerate ecological, social and democratic transitions in the era of advances in technologies of the fourth industrial revolution calls for innovative approaches in strengthening citizen participation, institutions and their dialogues. In moving forward, it is necessary to have conversations on the negative impacts of irresponsible design and use of emerging technologies on the future of democracy.
This seminar talk “Emerging technologies on the future of democracy: trends and consequences” by Jorge Clarke, will present how such irresponsible use of technology does have negative impacts on democracy and sustainable development. An open discussion with attendees of the seminar will be centered on the role of institutions, and governments in mitigating such undesirable consequences on the development. It will be great to have contributions from attendees on examples of such negative impacts on the quest for a green and fair transition for sustainable development.
