ACO Technologies invites you to their event

Are urban greening targets deliverable in reality?

About this event

Our first webinar (click here to view) considered the value of urban greening for cities around the world grappling with the issues of climate change and air pollution and managing transport systems in a post Covid-19 situation.

Continuing our series, this webinar will look at how urban greening can be applied in practice.

Many cities are introducing criteria to ensure appropriate levels of greening are included in new developments.

Our webinar discussion panel will consider:

How do planners decide if the schemes they review meet the criteria needed?

How do planners cover enforcement to check what was planned has been delivered as Urban Greening e.g. Some cities around the world require a registered landscape professional to sign off on the development to ensure the greening factor is met.

We will hear from developers who feel they can meet the urban greening requirement and how it enhances the saleability of the properties and the effect on the local demographic.

What are the biggest factors in delivering schemes to ensure what is planned is delivered and what flexibility there is on these factors?

How do cost and risk affect what actually gets delivered?

Is delivery focused on what will deliver best long term results for the life of the development and the users or for short term profit?

Our discussion will be chaired by Paul Shaffer from CIRIA

Our Panel includes:

  •  Louise Clarke from Berkeley Group will share how possible it is to deliver Urban greening on developments.
  • Andrew Taylor from Countryside Properties will talk about case studies from developments delivering urban greening.
  • Patricia Cuervo – Senior Flood and Water Management Officer, Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea will talk about how planners assess urban greening in projects they review.
  • Dusty Gedge Chairman of the European Federation of Green Roof Associations (EFB) and founder of Livingroofs.org will assess the challenges of how urban greening can be enforced on developments
  • Niall Mc Evoy, Business Development Manager, Scotscape Smartscape Ltd will outline their focus when delivering urban greening projects
