Africa - Europe AI Policy Dialogue

The French Development Agency continues to promote technological innovation in Africa and partners with the Africa Lawyers Hub to support the "Africa Law Tech Festival". On this occasion, a Hackathon and a Conference on the theme "Economic development, digital trade and democracy in the era of artificial intelligence" will take place respectively on June 13 and 14 in Paris, at the AFD.

This annual meeting aims to promote collaboration in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) policy between Africa and Europe, to understand best practices, to bring together leaders of "Tech - Policy" of the two continents and to establish alliances between Africa and Europe. Last year, the “Africa Law Tech Festival” brought together more than 7,500 legal and technology professionals, plays a key role in the rise of technological innovations with the development of regulatory frameworks in Africa.

This year, the Festival is organized around the “Africa-Europe Artificial Intelligence Policy Dialogue”. To do this, expert conferences will be organized from June 2 to 16, 2022 in several major cities in Africa and Europe, from Nairobi to Geneva via Paris. This dialogue will attempt to federate visions around democratic practices and economic issues associated with artificial intelligence.


L’Agence Française du Développement continue de promouvoir l’innovation technologique en Afrique et s’associe à l’Africa Lawyers Hub pour soutenir l’« Africa Law Tech Festival ». A cette occasion un Hackathon et une Conférence sur le thème « Développement économique, commerce numérique et démocratie à l'ère de l'intelligence artificielle » se dérouleront respectivement les 13 et 14 juin à Paris, à l’AFD.

Ce rendez-vous annuel, a pour objectif de favoriser la collaboration en matière de politique d'Intelligence Artificielle (IA) entre l'Afrique et l'Europe, de comprendre les meilleures pratiques, de réunir les leaders de la « Tech – Policy » des deux continents et d’établir des alliances entre l'Afrique et l'Europe. L’année dernière, l’«Africa Law Tech Festival » a réuni plus de 7 500 professionnels du droit et de la technologie, joue un rôle clé dans l’essor d’innovations technologiques avec l'élaboration de cadres réglementaires en Afrique.

Cette année, le Festival s’organise autour du « Dialogue sur les politiques d’intelligence artificielle Afrique-Europe ». Pour ce faire, des conférences d’experts seront organisées du 2 au 16 juin 2022 dans plusieurs grandes villes d’Afrique et d’Europe, de Nairobi à Genève en passant par Paris. Ce dialogue tentera de fédérer des visions autour des pratiques démocratiques et des enjeux économiques associés à l’intelligence artificielle.
