About this event
Strategic Planning is the brain behind the creative work, but how do you actually break into the field?
Join us for a candid conversation with Miami Ad School alumni Sahar Rahamn and Blair Baker, two strategists who turned their curiosity into careers. Both completed our 10-week Strategic Planning Bootcamp and successfully transitioned into the industry.
They are skipping the theory to talk about the reality: what they learned, how they leveraged the bootcamp to pivot their careers, and what life is actually like inside the strategy department.
We’ll discuss:

Blair doesn't just write briefs, she crafts stories that shape culture. A seasoned strategist, Blair has worked across categories, working on brands like TJ Maxx, Mastercard, Gillette and Ad Council. Whether it's a children's cereal or financial planning, she is an insight aficionado. When she isn't elbow deep in a deck, she's an avid foodie (ask her about her NYC restaurant spreadsheet), a voracious reader (add her on Goodreads), and also probably the only person you've met from Idaho (No, she didn't grow up on a farm).
Sahar Rahman is a strategist whose career spans paid social, social strategy, and insight-driven brand planning. She's guided global pitches, led cultural and qualitative research, and built strategies grounded in human behavior. Her approach is shaped by personal experience: serving as her sister's healthcare proxy for more than a decade, where she learned to translate complexity, silence, and uncertainty into clear, actionable decisions. Today, she brings that same empathy and curiosity into the strategies she builds.
At Miami Ad School, we teach young creatives to harness their superpower and build lucrative and long-lasting creative careers. We do it by focusing on practical education.
Here, you'll learn by trying real-world projects assigned and judged by working professionals.
