Mama Glow invites you to their event

Mama Glow Webinar: Black Maternal Health Week - Bumping While Black: Navigating Perinatal Wellness & Advocacy

About this event

Mama Glow is honored to host Bumping While Black, a powerful conversation on perinatal wellness during Black Maternal Health Week 2025 (BMHW25). This year’s theme, “Healing Legacies: Strengthening Black Maternal Health Through Collective Action and Advocacy,” highlights the leadership of Black-led perinatal, maternal, and reproductive health organizations in advancing systemic change and fostering community healing.

This webinar will center the voices and expertise of health and wellness practitioners, birth workers, and advocates who are working to transform Black maternal health outcomes. Through insightful discussions, we will explore the tools, resources, and strategies needed to promote holistic wellness, advocacy, and community-led solutions in the perinatal space.

During this session, we will explore:

  • The role of Black health practitioners and advocates in reshaping maternal health care.
  • Holistic approaches to perinatal wellness, including mental health, nutrition, and self-care.
  • The impact of systemic inequities on Black maternal health and pathways to change.
  • Advocacy strategies to promote equitable policies and community-based support.
  • Resources for Black birthing people and families to access affirming, culturally competent care.

Whether you are a healthcare professional, doula, midwife, wellness practitioner, or advocate, this webinar will provide critical insights into the collective work needed to support, uplift, and protect Black birthing experiences.

    Georbina DaRosa Psychotherapist

As a first-generation Black therapist with a passion for working with BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities, Georbina knows that healing isn’t a one-size-fits-all journey. It’s messy, hard, and sometimes requires real and raw conversations. That’s why she’s all about keeping it real—being genuine, honest, and, most importantly, being there for you, no matter what you’re going through. Before becoming a therapist, Georbina worked as a birth and postpartum doula, supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most transformative and vulnerable moments. That experience, combined with my Master’s in Social Work from Columbia University, shaped her dedication to maternal wellness, mental health challenges, and trauma work. Today, Georbina provides psychodynamic and somatic therapy for individuals and couples, meeting you where you are with compassion, humor, and authenticity.
