About this event

Focus on a case study of a tank storage struck by lightning in 2022.

Updated in October 2024, the IEC 62305-2 standard relates to the assessment of risks in the workplace to which a structure may be exposed as a result of lightning strikes to earth. This new edition includes major technical changes, such as the use of preventive measures activated by a storm warning system (TWS) compliant with IEC 62793.

With 350 days of thunderstorms a year in Europe, lightning represents a source of severe risks that professionals need to be prepared for. This webinar is designed specifically for sensitive sites (SEVESO, COMAH, ...) whose activities and safety can be severely impacted in the event of a thunderstorm:

  • who already have protection systems in place and want to improve safety.
  • who want to go through an overall process involving risk analysis and the implementation of Lightning protection system and Thunderstorm Warning System.

What will you learn during this 30-minute presentation?

  • Case study: Focus on a Lightning Risk Analysis for a tank storage in Portugal struck by lightning in 2022 by Alain Rousseau, President of SEFTIM.
