Monitoring Vibrations in Ventilation Fans in Metro Barcelona: Using Wind-powered LoRaWAN IoT
We present INDU-EYE WIND, a battery-less stand-alone iIoT powered by wind IoT device for predictive maintenance of the ventilation fans installed in the top of subway tunnels, but also railways, highways and mining.
This autonomous system allows monitoring vibrations for preventing accidents (detachment of the fan from the tunnel ceiling). Nowadays, vibration monitoring for these fans is performed manually a few times a month.
This IoT device measures data every 3 minutes and reports the information to Savana, using a LoRaWAN network, that is the cloud platform of SmartMotors that centralizes all the information of Metro, the Barcelona Subway.
