Plastometrex invites you to their event

PIP for High-Throughput Testing - Customer Spotlight with WPI

About this event

PIP testing has several advantages over conventional tensile testing, including the speed of test and sample preparation. In this webinar, Dr. Bryer Sousa from the Cote Lab in WPI will discuss how the high-throughput testing capability of PIP is being used to support characterisation of materials made using different high deposition rate and large scale additive manufacturing (AM) processes. Dr. Sousa will discuss the different AM processes, the issues with conventional testing techniques of these materials and how PIP has been used to overcome these limitations.

Jimmy Campbell Chief Technology Officer @ Plastometrex

As Chief Technology Officer I have developed numerical methods for rapid extraction of mechanical properties from indentation data. These are deployed in our method to extract stress-strain curves from an indentation test, which is called Profilometry based Indentation Plastometry (PIP).

    Bryer Sousa Researcher @ WPI

Bryer Sousa received a B.A. in Mathematics, with concentrations in applied mathematics, machine learning and data analysis, from the University of Southern Maine. Prior to earning his undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Bryer attended the University of Maine as an undergraduate dually enrolled in the Department of Physics and the Department of Chemistry, which is where his interest in Materials Science & Engineering was fostered. Bryer focuses his research upon cold spray, alloy design, data-driven materials research, rapid solidification and powder metallurgy, metal additive manufacturing, indentation plastometry, nanoindentation, and the like.
