Esko invites you to their event

An introduction to Screening for Flexography

About this event

Screening is a critical factor in print quality

This is part one of a two part series on screening for flexography.

In this “introductory level” presentation, we’ll look at some of the basics for flexo screening – including resolution, dot shapes, screen screen angles moires and more.

Well conclude with a look at transitional (AM / FM) screens as well as cell patterns designed for ink transfer.

Key Take-Aways

  •  Colors are reproduced on a flexo press by “screens” of halftone dots of different sizes.
  • The basic parameters of a screen are the dot shape, screen ruling, and the screen angle.
  • The CTP device resolution has an impact on dot quality.
  • Two screening categories are AM and FM. Screens that combine these two are called transitional or “hybrid” screens.
  • Screens can be made to transfer ink more uniformly buy imaging smaller “cells” into the larger dots.

There will be a live Q&A section at the end of the session.

Can't make it to the session? Register and you will receive the recording.

Don't forget the register for part 2 as well!
