Foundry invites you to their event

Story development and creative collaboration with Flix 6.5

About this event

Rodeo FX is joining the Flix team again to take a second look at their award-winning short film, CANARY. This time, the directing duo Benoit Therriault and Pierre-Hugues “PH” Dallaire will present the workflow when creating the story for CANARY. Together, they will share how they used the script to create storyboard thumbnails, provide an exclusive look at the development of a sequence, and discuss how they adapted the sequence through iterative review.

Foundry’s Creative Specialist DJ Matias will also join the session to provide an overview of the features seen in Flix 6.5 which includes a new permission system, customizable Contact Sheets, a media relinking and versioning system in Storyboard Pro, a new panel versioning system, and more.

Join the session live to participate in the Q&A moderated by Mariagrazia Petito Di Leo and Caterina Malfe, Foundry’s Flix Product Management Team.

Benoit Therriault Director @ Rodeo FX

Benoit “Ben” Therriault was born with a pencil in his hand and a cap on his head. His passion for storytelling found an outlet in comic books and filmmaking until he discovered the process of animation. With his storyboarding and design skills, he became a creative force at Shed Studios where he met PH. Together they became the dynamic Director duo known as Ben&PH. Featured at the Annecy International Film Festival (Share The Joy, IGA; Vraiment Frais, IGA; Aide Gourmet, IGA). Other accolades include Vimeo Staff Picks (Share The Joy), an Honourable Mention at the Queen Palm International Film Festival (LottoMax Bear), and a CREA Award (MSSS Smoke). Their short-circuited but notable attempt at making the short film Outside in 2016 led them to a better home, RodeoFX and an even better film: “CANARY”!
