The Madison Group invites you to their event

How Processing Affects Weld Line Performance in Glass Reinforced Plastic Parts

About this event

This event is a special edition in our series on how to successfully design and manufacture parts using glass reinforced plastics. This edition will focus on the performance of weld lines in fiber reinforced plastic parts, as it relates to fiber orientation and weld line fusion. Glass fibers are often added to plastic parts for increased strength and stiffness. However, non-ideal fiber orientation and the presence of weld lines can negatively impact the mechanical property improvements we see with the addition of glass fibers into a compound. This webinar will explore the processing methods and design guidelines that can be used to mitigate the undesirable effects of weld lines on glass-fiber-reinforced parts.

At the completion of the webinar attendees will:

  • Understand the critical parameters for determining weld like quality.
  • Learn how fiber length influences weld line performance.
  • Discover how injection-mold-filling-simulation can be used to optimize weld line performance.
