The Madison Group invites you to their event

Ensure you are “Molding” your Vision into Reality with High Temperature Polymeric Components

About this event

The trend of replacing traditional metal materials with plastics has continued to accelerate over the last decade.  While there are numerous factors that are driving this trend one of the limitations of plastics is their performance at elevated temperatures. Luckily, the evolution of material development has yielded several options to introduce plastics into these higher temperature applications. However, while  a cursory material search for these “high-temperature” plastics can yield a long list of potential candidates, it is important to consider how the parts will be molded so that the material can reach the potential you see in it.

This webinar will highlight how manufacturing and mold design can influence the end performance of high temperature plastic resins when utilizing injection molding. Topics such as cycle time optimization, runner and gate sizing, and cooling optimization will all be discussed and related to how it influences the end part performance.

After attending the webinar the audience will have a better understanding of:

  • The key material characteristics of these high temperature resins that need to be optimized to obtain the desired part performance.
  • How gate location and size influence the end part performance.
  • How fiber reinforcements may influence the desired part performance.
  • The importance of mold design and cooling optimization for both part cost and end part performance.
  • How to proactively address any manufacturing issues before first shots.
