Affinisep invites you to their event

Implementing a membranous nephropathy typing assay on a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer for use in clinical practice

About this event

By attending his talk, you will learn that:

  • Membranous nephropathy is caused by immune complex deposition in kidney tissue and driven by autoantibodies
  • Determining the protein targeted by the immune system is important for etiology, prognosis, and treatment
  • A workflow for immune complex extraction and typing membranous nephropathy in frozen tissue by MRM has been developed
  • Assays for measuring autoantibody levels in serum are needed by the nephrology community
  • Using BioSPE® PurePep 96 well plates for microelution can minimize variances during the desalting step of the protocol

Start times:

  • Europe: 4:00 pm CEST (Paris)
  • United States: 10:00 am EST (New York)

Animated by Dr. Florine HALLEZ, Product Manager Bioanalysis, Affinisep

Guest speaker: Aaron Storey, Ph.D, Director of the Mass Spectrometry lab at Arkana Laboratories.

Dr. Aaron Storey joined Arkana Laboratories in 2023 to direct the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory and is interested in developing and applying mass spectrometry techniques in clinical settings to improve the practice of medicine and address clinical needs. His academic career has provided him with a broad knowledge base, spanning molecular biology, neuroscience, genetics, proteomics, statistics, and data science. His skill set combines the application of cutting-edge proteomics techniques to generate large data sets containing high quality information, and the use of programming languages and data analysis techniques to turn this information into actionable insights. Currently, Dr. Storey is working on translating a mass spectrometry-based assay for typing membranous nephropathy into clinical practice. Dr. Storey received his B.Sc. in Behavioral Neuroscience in 2010 from the University of Evansville and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology in 2017 from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
