The KKDIK Regulation (also known as Turkey REACH), so called because of its similarity with European REACH, was implemented on 23rd June 2017. Turkey REACH, which came into force on 23rd December 2017, impacts companies exporting, importing, or manufacturing chemical substances in Turkey.
Just like its European equivalent, the implementation of a Turkish REACH starts with a pre-Registration phase which will end on 31st December 2020. To pre-register and register, companies must appoint an Only Representative (OR) certified by the Turkish government. The OR will then carry out pre-Registrations and Registrations of substances for the manufacturer/exporter/exporter in Turkey.
