Repsol 2021-2025 strategy is articulated around Low-carbon generation, Customer-centric, Industrial, and Upstream. The latter stressed innovation and a high technological level with a focus on decarbonization and cash flow generation.
In line with the corporate strategy, the subsurface technologies of Repsol TechLab and Corporate Venturing proposed the development of new products, the scaling-up and/or pivoting of existing proprietary technology products, with the incorporation of artificial intelligence, data analytics, and quantum computing techniques developed by Repsol experts in those areas.
The presentation will review the challenges of the industry in addressing the subsurface challenges of the energy transition, followed by examples, proposed by research centers, academia and energy operators, of the use of AI, Data Analytics and Quantum Computing.
Taoufik Ait-Ettajer, Manager of Technology Projects at Repsol will lead the online talk with the digital energy professionals. He is the manager of subsurface technology projects at Repsol Technology Lab and Corporate Venturing. He supervises activities related to oil & gas, geothermal, CCUS, and cyclical hydrogen storage. Those activities cover Digital Material Characterization, Geology & Geomodeling, Geomechanics, Reservoir Engineering, and Field Development Optimization disciplines.
