About this event
In a few weeks, the biggest sales period of the year will be over. The headline figures will follow quickly. The insights you can plan around will take more work: how demand built over the weeks before, which categories moved differently from last year, and what shoppers decided was worth paying for.
After the Rush is where we work through that. Before peak season, NIQ forecast where demand would land. Once the season has played out, we'll check those predictions against the real results and turn what we learn into decisions for your 2027 plan.
In a panel moderated by Anthony Norman, NIQ's Global Strategic Insights team joins industry leaders from brands and retailers to discuss what worked, what didn't, and why.
Peak season sets up the whole year. The top seven promotional events now drive 35% of annual T&D revenue. The lessons from these few weeks will shape every promotion in 2027.
Shoppers expect more before they buy. 56% of tech and durables buyers have delayed a purchase over price or while waiting for a discount, and 75% say clear product information strongly shapes their final choice. This season will show which brands made their value clear enough to win the sale.
Discovery is changing quickly. AI was part of the research for 16% of Black Friday 2025 purchases, and that share is forecast to reach 22% by Q4 2026. This is the first peak season where AI could decide which brands buyers consider before they reach a store or product page.
Budgets are being set now. 2027 plans get locked in around year end. This session gives you the evidence in time to shape them.
