Between Us: Intimacy Through the Fertility Journey

Co-Presented by: RMA New York & LOLA

Wednesday, September 23 | 6:30–8:00 PM ET | Virtual

Fertility treatment can transform the way people experience their bodies, relationships, desire, and sex. What once felt spontaneous or intimate can begin to feel scheduled, clinical, or closely tied to reproduction. "Between Us: Intimacy Through the Fertility Journey" is a virtual gathering centered on the emotional, relational, and sexual realities of moving through IVF and fertility care.

Fertility treatment is never only clinical. The experience can shape body image, communication, pleasure, pelvic health, partnership dynamics, and the ways people relate to intimacy throughout the process. Between Us brings together leaders across reproductive medicine, pelvic health, sexual wellness, and maternal health for an interdisciplinary conversation about what it takes to remain connected to yourself and to your partner while navigating fertility treatment. Together, we’ll explore intimacy across the fertility journey: from the pressures of timed sex and medical intervention to changes in desire, physical comfort, emotional wellbeing, communication, and the possibility of reconnecting with pleasure beyond reproduction.

What We’ll Explore:

  • How IVF and fertility treatment can affect sex, desire, and intimacy
  • What happens when sex becomes scheduled, medicalized, or closely tied to conception
  • Changes in body image, identity, and confidence throughout treatment
  • Pelvic health, physical discomfort, and sexual wellbeing
  • Communicating with a partner through stress, uncertainty, and treatment
  • Reconnecting with pleasure when reproduction has taken center stage
  • The role of emotional and relational support throughout the fertility journey
  • How individuals and couples can create space for intimacy that is not defined by fertility outcomes
