Acoem invites you to their event

Aerosol monitoring for Climate Research using the Aurora Nephelometer

About this event

All around the world, atmospheric scientists and environmental agencies rely on the Aurora Nephelometer range to be accurate, flexible and easy to use, while also coping with the demands of extreme weather conditions.

ACOEM has been at the forefront of manufacturing air quality monitoring instruments for almost 45 years through the Ecotech brand. Pioneering innovative solutions in air, water, gas, blast, particulate and dust, Ecotech manages more than 500 real-time environmental monitoring sites and are certified to internationally recognised quality standards.

There are many examples of the Aurora Nephelometer being used successfully in research campaigns globally, from Antarctica to the Gobi Desert (e.g. AQABA and NOSA-FAAR, Amazon Tall Tower Observatory, Ambilabs ERV, and more). The nephelometer measures light scattering properties of aerosols. The Aurora 3000 / 4000 has been operated in a number of networks including ACTRIS and GAW stations.

Please join us as we support academia to solve complex current and future climate problems, and assist authorities to make decisions enabling populations to reduce their exposure to increased levels of particulate-related pollution.

You should attend if:

  • You’re a research professional in aerosol or climate studies looking for reliable light scattering data
  • You're researching the effect of aerosols on the global radiative balance
  • You’re interested in analysing the hygroscopic properties of aerosols
  • You're interested in using the Nephelometer for visibility studies
  • You wish to use the Aurora Nephelometer in conjunction with other instruments or collaborate across industry and academia.

During an engaging half-hour, you will learn:

  • About the full breadth of the Aurora’s functionality and how to use it to its full potential to measure visibility, full scatter and backscatter at various wavelengths
  • How various options and accessories can assist with integrating the Aurora nephelometer into your aerosol monitoring platform
  • How the Aurora Nephelometer and the ACS-1000 complement each other and how they can work together for even greater aerosol analysis.
