Known for photorealistic CG character creation, Digital Domain began one of their more complicated character projects when working on Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Tasked with making She-Hulk a dynamic character with a complete wardrobe and a variety of hairstyles, Digital Domain produced over 967 shots that featured 43 minutes of She-Hulk for the first season of the show.
Join the Digital Domain team to learn about their process for creating the full CG She-Hulk. During the presentation, Digital Domain will break down how they were able to create dewy, contour make-up, a range of facial expressions, and a new shapewear and muscle system with the help of Nuke. The team will also discuss how they used their new in-house deepfake system called Charlatan for facial transformations and how they brought K.E.V.I.N. to life.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions to Digital Domain's Visual Effects Supervisors Phil Cramer and Mike Melchiorre, and Animation Supervisor Liz Bernard during a live Q&A, as well as a chance to win a special prize.

Elizabeth “Liz” Bernard is an experienced Senior Animation Supervisor with more than 20 feature film, episodic and short film credits to her name. Some of her most recent projects include Twentieth Century Studios’ “Free Guy,” Paramount Pictures “Terminator: Dark Fate,” and Marvel Studios’ “Captain Marvel.” Liz has a particular passion for bringing animals, creatures, and characters to life and forging an emotional connection to the audience. She recently wrapped as the Senior Animation Supervisor on Marvel Studios’ highly-anticipated series “She-Hulk” and has led animation on several blockbuster films, including Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,” “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” and “Maleficent,” among others.
Prior to becoming one of Digital Domain’s Visual Effects Supervisors, Jan Philip Cramer served as DD’s Head of Animation for many years and is one of the industry’s leading Animation Directors. He has been on set for numerous blockbuster films focusing on creature and facial animation. He has garnered an impressive list of credits and accolades in his 15-year career, including winning a VES award for his work on the digital character Thanos in “Avengers: Infinity War.” As Head of Animation at Digital Domain, Phil oversaw a team of top animators in the Digital Domain animation department, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in visual effects and animation.
Over the past 20 years, Michael has been a stalwart leader in the compositing department at Digital Domain, amassing over fifty feature film, episodic, and commercial credits to his name. In 2020, he won a Telly award for Best Compositing on Tom Clancy’s: the Division 2. He has also been nominated for two VES awards; “Outstanding Compositing in a Photoreal Episode” for Black Sails (2017) as well as “Outstanding Compositing and Lighting in a Feature” for Black Widow (2022). As the top Compositing Supervisor at Digital Domain, Michael has overseen a diverse and talented group of compositors, always striving to further enhance Digital Domain’s reputation for compositing excellence. Michael has supervised compositing teams on many feature films including Real Steel, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Terminator: Dark Fate, Black Widow, and Spiderman: No Way Home.
