About this event
(P2) Teulo Ed | Colour, High Performance Glass, Sustainable & Thermal Risk in Modern Façades
1pm - 2pm - Richard Crosby | Category Manager - Hard Flooring | Belgotex
Synopsis: This session introduces European hardened timber flooring – a new, high-performance category that goes beyond traditional solid and engineered timber flooring. We will explore how this technology delivers exceptional strength and stability while significantly improving sustainability outcomes, including resource efficiency and a reduced environmental footprint. You will learn how it meets key performance and building compliance requirements, along with practical guidance on installation and maintenance. The session concludes with recent project examples showcasing how European hardened timber is being used to deliver resilient and naturally beautiful spaces.
Key Learning Outcomes:
Synopsis: 2pm - 3pm - Dyann Stewart | Facade Consultant | Technoform
Synopsis: Reducing Thermal Risk in Modern Façade Design explores how designers can minimise condensation, mould growth, and durability problems by improving thermal performance at junctions, frames, and façade interfaces. Through New Zealand–specific climate insights and practical detailing guidance, the session translates building physics into clear, buildable strategies that lift internal surface temperatures where it matters most. You’ll learn how weak points such as joinery interacts with the facade, and where cladding interacts with the structure which influence surface temperature and material longevity, how to evaluate these through simple tools or hygrothermal modelling, and how to document your assumptions so designs pass review and reduce rework.
