Delving Deeper into Failure Analysis: An Introduction

or

About this event

Failure analysis is a critical process to identify the root cause of product failure. By understanding the underlying reasons for failure, proactive steps to prevent future occurrences, improve product reliability, and enhance overall quality can be taken. This webinar series will provide a comprehensive overview of the key steps involved in conducting a thorough failure analysis. At the end of this series, attendees will be equipped with the knowledge and tools to effectively investigate failures and implement corrective actions.

The first installment will provide attendees with a foundational understanding of the failure analysis. Participants will learn essential techniques for conducting effective failure analysis, including:

  • Goals and Objectives: Setting clear expectations for the analysis, including identifying the primary failure mode and potential contributing factors.
  • Background Information Gathering: Collecting relevant data on product design, manufacturing processes, and operational history to establish a context for analysis.
  • Test Plan Development: Defining clear objectives and outlining specific tests to be performed to isolate the root cause.
  • Sample Handling: Proper handling and preservation of failed components to maintain evidence integrity.
  • Method Flow Chart: Visualizing the systematic approach to failure analysis, from initial inspection to final report.
  • Rules of Failure Analysis: Adhering to established principles for efficient and accurate investigations.

At the end of this session, attendees will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools to initiate a comprehensive failure analysis investigation.
